Break the floor into simple rectangles, include closets and connected alcoves that receive the same flooring, add the areas and then apply the product-appropriate waste factor. Measure door transitions separately.
Volume = length × width × thickness, using the same units. Convert to cubic feet, then divide by the concrete bag’s stated yield and round up to a whole bag.

For a typical 12×12 room with an 8-foot ceiling, the four walls total 384 square feet before subtracting doors and windows. One gallon often covers roughly 350–400 square feet for one coat, so two coats commonly require.
Wash the area first, then soften the sap with a paint-safe automotive sap remover or an appropriate isopropyl-alcohol method recommended for the finish. Work gently and re-wax or protect the cleaned spot afterward.
