Treat the stiff residue before washing with a fabric-safe detergent solution or oxygen-based product approved for the garment. Work from the inside of the fabric, avoid chlorine bleach on colored items and do not.
Seal obvious door gaps with removable weatherstripping, keep your unit slightly cleaner/less odor-loaded and use a portable air cleaner with activated carbon for odors. Report major pressure or ventilation problems.
A musty AC smell often comes from moisture and microbial growth around the evaporator or a dirty cabin air filter. Check the filter and make sure the evaporator drain is working before using fragrance to cover the odor.
Blot—do not soak—the area, then use a small amount of mild cleaning solution appropriate for the mattress fabric. Extract moisture with clean towels and dry fully before remaking the bed.
Remove the grease source first: clean the range hood filter, backsplash, cabinet fronts and nearby fabrics. Ventilation alone will not permanently remove an odor if oily residue remains on surfaces.
For mineral film, start with a mild acidic cleaner such as diluted white vinegar on compatible glass, allow brief contact time, then wipe with a non-scratch pad and rinse well. Test coatings or treated glass first.
